The Pentecost Offering unites us in a church-wide effort to support young people and inspire them to share their faith, ideas, and unique gifts with the church and the world.
Psalm 71 testifies that a foundation of faith established during childhood helps ensure lifelong faith and service. The patterns and lessons established during these formative years continue to bear fruit throughout a person's life. By receiving the Pentecost Offering, you are nurturing the faith of those who are the church to come — children, youth, and young adults.
A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also address the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering can be retained by individual congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people within their own community. The remaining 60% is used to support children-at-risk, youth, and young adults through ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency.

The Pentecost Offering is traditionally received on the day of Pentecost. However, However, your congregation is welcome to celebrate this Offering at any point in the year. In fact, many congregations receive it on a youth-related Sunday, like Sunday School Kickoff (or Rally) Day, Youth Sunday, or their Confirmation Sunday.

Congregations keep 40% of raised funds to initiate or support programs for young people in their communities. The remaining 60% is remitted to the Presbyterian Mission Agency.
Our portion of the Pentecost Offering has been used to provide school supplies and gift certificates for back-to-school haircuts for children in need. We feel that this is the best way to help our local children in need: by letting them know that we care about their education and how they feel about themselves when they return to school.
Our youth choose who we give our Pentecost funds to, and they chose "Together We Rise" whose vision is to improve the lives of foster children in America. They have been able to provide new bikes, college supplies, and suitcases so that children do not have to travel from home to home with their belongings in a trashbag.
We encourage congregations to participate in the Pentecost Offering to support Triennium, or similar local youth events. If a congregation has no youth in their membership, they can give their retained portion to the presbytery so we can provide the opportunity for other local youth to participate!

By giving to the Pentecost Offering, your congregation participates in helping our children, youth, and young adults grow up to proclaim with the Psalmist, "O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds."
